The predominant surface in deserts is actually just bare rocks, such as sand
has blows away.

Only 20% of deserts have accumulations of wind blown sand called Erg.
This sand is blown around and carried all over the world.
Dunes: Depositional features of wind blown sand. They are dynamic
features under constant change.
